Homelessness

Homelessness
What issue does Dave discover?
He discovers homelessness and how many people it effects, and how hard it is to live and think positive through it.
How do people become homeless?
People can become homless due to things such as mental illness, domestic violence, loss of job, gambling and drugs.
What are their lives like?
Very hard, hopeless, trapped and its very hard for them to break out of the poverty cycle. They call themselves ‘Rough sleepers’ as they have to sleep on the street as they have no bed.
Who is helping these people?
Companies such as the Salvation Army and Mission Beat help the homeless. Mission Beat provides food for the homeless.
How does Dave experience ‘shed light’ or raise awareness of the issue?
By making the TV series he is spreading awareness of the issue of homelessness as many will watch the series. It is interesting and people would want to watch the series as it gives an idea to how homeless people live, not just as we see but when we don’t. We as a society care a little bit about homelessness but not a lot, which is part of the issue, so it is good for people to see how hard life really is for them, maybe it will make people care and want to help more.
